Ethos

Liberty Learning is dedicated to provide a vibrant, broad, personalised experience. We aim to reduce the barriers to learning and to encourage individuals to create opportunities to increase confidence, sense of achievement and independence.

 

Our ethos is to offer shared understanding and knowledge and to promote fundamental development. We firmly believe that learning takes place everyday and is life long, irrespective of age, gender and ability.

 

We intend to exceed traditional learning of the curricula and to impact on the lives of learners in a positive way.

Core Aims

  • Self-esteem and confidence

  • Build independence and resilience

  • Offer opportunities to develop problem solving and risky play whereby the young person is part of risk assessing

  • learning skills such as animal care, tool work, nature identification, forest skills, turn taking and social interaction.

  • We will discuss a young person’s support needs and goals to tailor make the programme for them, based on the areas of development needing the most support.

  • Respecting animals and the environment.

  • Working independently whilst following clear instructions.

  • Working in a team and helping others.

  • Learning new activities such as forest skills, metal detecting, magnet fishing, orienteering and farm animal care.

  • Community outreach and society inclusion.

  • Leisure skills and hobbies.
